Jeannie Dwyer appointed as the new Executive Director of Human Resources

DCSD is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeannie Dwyer as the new Executive Director of Human Resources, pending board approval.

With an impressive track record in educational leadership and human resources management, Ms. Dwyer brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment for all DCSD staff.

Over the past five years, Jeannie Dwyer has been a dedicated professional within the Douglas County School District, serving in various leadership roles. Most recently, she has successfully managed the district under challenging circumstances as the Acting Superintendent, Executive Director of Human Resources, and Executive Director of Inclusive Education. Her ability to adapt, lead with resilience, and maintain a positive attitude has been instrumental in supporting students, staff, and the community during this time.

Jeannie Dwyer’s extensive experience in human resources management includes recruitment, training, evaluation, employee relations, contracts, data tracking and reporting, and comprehensive organizational development. Her strategic initiatives have consistently contributed to the success of the districts and organizations she has served.

Jeannie Dwyer holds an Administrative Endorsement, an Autism Endorsement, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Special Education, all from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her career includes various roles such as District Wide Implementation Specialist and held various teaching positions at Washoe County School District, and was a Volunteer and Community Training Coordinator at the JUSTin Hope Foundation. Additionally, she participated in the Nevada Leadership Education for Neuro-Developmental Disabilities program at the University of Nevada, Reno.

“I am honored to take on the role of Executive Director of Human Resources,” said Ms. Dwyer. “My focus will be on developing and maintaining programs that attract and retain highly qualified staff, enhancing system efficiencies, providing consistent training and professional development, and fostering a healthy and balanced work environment. I am committed to improving staff morale through open communication, collaboration, and a culture of inclusivity and support. Additionally, I plan to create a comprehensive wellness program to promote the well-being of our staff.”
