The Minden Rotary Club has awarded grants to five Douglas County School District staff members: Angela Goff of PWL, Alicia Hill of CCMES, Pam Gilmartin of JVES, and Ethan Petite and Kelly Yost of DHS.

Gina, the therapy dog, has been seen around JVES reading with students. She joins us once a month with her handler to support reading development with our students.
Jacks Valley Elementary students learn life skills through horsemanship at Between Horses and Humans (https://www.horsesandhumans.org). This new program, which is coordinated by the school's social worker and counselor, is in a pilot phase. Groups of four students will attend weekly sessions in 6-week increments for the remainder of the school year.
A great field trip for 5th graders last week! They visited the DCSD High School's CTE program (Career and Technical Education)—everything from culinary to auto-shop and welding to agriculture.
